A lawyer specialising in intellectual property and non-contentious media law has joined Setfords Solicitors as a consultant.
Julian Wilkins has almost 30 years of experience as a solicitor, including 10 specialising in IP and media law. He has worked for a number of high profile clients including Rolling Stones photographer Philip Townsend, jazz photographer David Redfern and Sir David Frost. Julian is also a qualified commercial mediator and notary public.
Julian used to run his own practice and has worked at other firms including DMH Stallard and Devereaux Solicitors. He also handles branding and format rights and has experience in civil litigation.
Julian has written for The Guardian and The Independent and is a regular contributor to the EU Audio Visual Observatory. He also developed Blue Pencil, an IP magazine offering explanation, comment and training on legal and commercial issues relevant to the creative industries. Julian has been recently appointed the editor of the ITN (Independent Television News) 1955 Club newsletter.
